The monster chases the Princess up a glass tree where she sees a kiri-bird. She tries to tell the bird that she needs help. The bird flies off and pesters a tree-sounder called El-Kin who thinks he hears the bird say that Reena needs help. He follows it, sees the monster and chases it away.
